We are very excited to introduce the very first vintage of our Winemaker's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from the Roblar Estate. This 2018 vintage showcases the lush depth of flavor that develops in the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown at our vineyard.
This wine is a blend of two clones, 622 and VCC (Vieux Chateau Certan), of Cabernet Franc grown at Roblar Estate Vineyard. With the vineyard’s light rocky soil and moderate climate, the grapes develop a wonderful depth of classic Cabernet Franc flavor.
The “Alban” clone Grenache grown at Roblar Estate Vineyard’s ideal combination of light rocky soil and moderate climate, makes a wine of exceptionally deep color and rich structure. A small amount of Syrah was added to further accentuate the lush fruit character of this wine.
A blend of three clones (4, 6 and 23) of Sangiovese grown at our Estate vineyard gives an elegant base of spice and complexity. Cabernet Sauvignon from our Estate vineyard adds depth and structure. On the palate, you will experience a rich and structured with layered flavors of dark plum and spice.
The mild climate of our estate vineyard, tempered by foggy mornings and combined with the long growing season, allows our grapes to fully develop structure and complexity while retaining fresh and bright fruit flavors. Aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, 20% new, this wine displays aromas of dark cherry and plum with overtones of cocoa and vanilla, giving way to a lush mouthfeel, smoothly integrated tannins, and a long fruit finish.
A small amount of Syrah and Grenache from Roblar Estate Vineyard is blended in to frame and elevate the classic Mourvedre flavors of this wine. Aged for 18 months in neutral French oak barrels, this bright ruby colored wine shows notes of blueberry, violet, and thyme with a medium body of dried plum and a long fruit finish.
64% Syrah, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is a blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown at Roblar Estate Vineyard. With our vineyard’s light rocky soil and moderate climate, the grapes develop a wonderful richness of flavor. The lush mouthfeel of Syrah and the depth and structure of the Cabernet come together to create an optimum (“Ottimo”) blend.
This blend showcases the depth of flavor that our vineyards can produce. Lots from the best areas of our Estate Vineyard were selected and blended to create the optimum in flavor expression. After cold-soaking for three days to extract rich color, the must fermented on the skins for three weeks to obtain a richly extracted wine. Aged for 22 months in finest “tight-grain” French oak barrels, a total of fourteen barrels (40% new) were individually selected to compose this exquisite blend. Rich aromas of blackberry, spice, and dark fruit are complemented by the complex structure and layers of flavor.
64% Syrah, 25% Mourvedre, 11% Grenache. This wine is made entirely from grapes grown at Roblar’s estate vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley. Individual barrels of Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache were selected and blended to achieve a bright rich red wine with smoothly integrated layers of flavor. Dark ruby color that is richly structured with dark plum and cherry flavors.
This elegant, well-structured “Bordeaux” blend is made entirely from grapes grown at Roblar Estate Vineyard. Cabernet Sauvignon adds black currant and pepper notes; Merlot compliments with a lush, cherry mouthfeel; Petit Verdot offers dense flavor and complexity; and Cabernet Franc provides structure and spice, making a layered and dynamic red wine.
A blend of 85% Syrah, 15% Grenache, This wine is made entirely from grapes grown at the Gleason Family’s Roblar and Refugio Ranch vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley. Individual lots of Syrah and Grenache were carefully blended to produce a delicious wine with smoothly integrated layers of bright rich flavor. Dark ruby color with aromas of dark fruit, spice and vanilla. Dark plum and cherry flavors, richly structured with a long finish.
